CONSO NYLON #18

Conso was the original company producing nylon #18 for the upholstery industry. The thread was designed for hand stitching. The color range is neutral and has not changed much over the years. It used to be a good thread for micro macrame, simple or complex beading projects, bead crochet, kumuhimo braiding, half-hitching, Cavandoli tapestry knotting, tatting...

Note: Thread quality and dye lots has often been an issue with Conso, with changing dye lots and bond issues. It used to be a fantastic thread and it had its avid fans. I loved their Black, Light Brown and Green. However the newer production is not suited for jewelry, although it may still works for upholstery. So at this time, I will no longer carry Conso Nylon #18! See notes on change to thread quality in newer supply....

Note :: As of May 2010, Conso Nylon #18 is going through changes... The main differences are in the bond finish and the actual dye lots. The new colors do not match the old colors precisely, and have a lighter bond. The application of bond does not seen even across all new colors received. Is it a fluke or just the hiccups of a new manufacturer? We will see. Of course if you use this thread for stitching a couch, it may not be very important, however if you use it to make a jewelry collection, quality and color is critical. Thanks for your understanding!

About colors :: While every attempt was made to reproduce thread colors accurately, colors on your monitor may not precisely match actual thread colors. Dye lots may vary!

About shopping cart :: Quantities are automatically set at 1 when you add items to the shopping cart. To change quantities, just change the number in the shopping cart window to quantity desired and update the cart.
