Premium super soft elastic cord perfect for masks braided in the USA out of latex-free polyester nylon blend elastic thread. Available in 3 sizes, in 1/4" or 1/8" flat braids, or 3/32" round braid.

The round elastic braid is very similar to the elastic on surgical masks, but it is a bit thicker and even softer.

This is for my friends and customers who are sewing masks and frustrated with out of stock hard elastic from commercial sources... Keep on sewing, unfortunately, it looks like we will be wearing masks for a while...

A mask requires between 10 to 18 inch of elastic depending on your design. The masks shown in the photos were sewn by two of my friends. They used the 1/4" flat for the adult masks, and the 1/8" flat or 3/32" round braid for the masks for children. The cords ends can be cut with scissors without much fraying or they can be cut and melted with a thread burner. The cords attached to surgial masks are melted into a seam, but I do not know if that is a useful method for hand sewn masks. Let me know how it works for you!
