The thread construction is a 2-ply Z twist, softly spun, giving it a lofty feel. The 2-ply construction is visible and catches the light giving a playfulness and an exceptional sheen to the thread.

This silk thread was designed for hand stitching, Temari balls embroidery, and other traditional Japanese designs. The colors selection was chosen specifically for Temari balls for Kanagawa by a Japanese Temari Master.
This high quality filament or reeled silk thread isalso great for needlepoint, embroidery, hand stitching, quilting, and Cavandoli knotting. This silk does not have any lint nor do the filaments stick out when the thread is run back and forth between fingers. However like all silks, it can be snagged, so handle this silk with care and keep it away from rough bead edges.
