The Bracelet has a button and loop closure, however it is not made the usual way starting at the button and finishing at the loop. It also has a dual side, chips on the top side and softer round 8s against the skin on the other side, Get the kit and find out how this approach save time and requires no hand stitching. The Bracelet Tutorial is 15 page long with over 40 photos, tables and diagrams.
The Tassel is made with the leftover beads. The Tassel Tutorial is 17 page long with 25 photos, tables and diagrams. Both sets of instructions are included with the kit or available as stand alone PDFs available for download or viewing online HERE. No kumihimo and beading experience is necessary. The directions are clear and easy to follow.
To make a large tassel you will need leftover beads from 2 Bead & Button Packs, so get 1 Full Kit and 1 extra Bead & Button Pack and make 2 bracelets and 1 Large Tassel. There is enough C-Lon Bead Cord to makea 3-ply cord for the tassel. Get the Cord Making Manual and all the tools for Project 1 or 2 HERE.
If you decide to make a cord to turn the tassel into a necklace, you can either braid one with the extra C-Lon Bead Cord that comes with the kit or learn cord making to make the 3-ply cord featured on the photos. For the cord option, you will need to get the instructions and make your own tools, or get the Cord Making Tool Set. More info is available HERE.

I wanted to write a kumihimo tutorial with a button and a loop for a long time and when these beautiful Larimar chip beads came my way at BABE, the Bay Area Bead Extravaganza, the concept was born. When the first bracelet sample was finished, I had just enough Larimar chip beads leftover for a beaded tassel attached to the bracelet, and I had to write another tutorial. Then Ultra Violet, the 2018 Pantone Color of Year came out and Amethyst was added to the mix. Then the larger tassels needed cords and instead of braiding them I opted for 3-ply twisted cords. Then the cord making tutorial I had written in 2006 needed some updating and extra tutorial added to make it more project oriented!

Other Tools & Adhesives |
I used beeswax for my first samples,
then I switched to Fray Check
and it worked very well.

Fray Check |

Perfect for self needles - superior to super glue or nail polish. It does not leave much of a residue on the fingers when smoothing along the thread, and the residue can be washed or rubbed away easily. The alcohol evaporates and the product dries on the thread. When opening the bottle for the first time, poke a hole in the tip with a fine pin. Allow 5-10 minutes to dry.
