Cavandoli 2.0 at BABE 2014
Thursday-Friday, November 13-14 - Cavandoli 2.0 at BABE!
In this class, we will create tapestry-like miniatures with nylon cord using double half hitches. We will learn how to go beyond the 2 color scheme limitation of the double half hitch and shift colors at will for total color control. Plus we will add beads into the woven-like module. To explore these techniques, we will knot 1 to 2 small modules during class. The pieces will be finished after class. Prior knowledge of the double half hitch is required. Several tutorials are available on my workshop page.
This class went well. All the students were engaged. Everyone got over the bumps in the learning curve. Plan for next year - I will be teaching Cabochon Setting with Cavandoli, and free-form flowers and leaves!

August 27, 2014 - Turkish Flat Bead Crochet & Princess-Warrior Bracelet Kits & Tutorial I am very please to announce the release of a new kit and tutorial. It is the next step up from the Turkish Flat Bead Bracelet. The pattern is based on Oya, the beautiful crochet trims found mostly around scarves edges in Anatolia.

The show was great, overall less well attended than we expected. My booth stayed busy. I had extra help, so time to do lots of demos, show all my newest projects and jewelry. Many of you traveled from far away to come - thank you. Others were locals from Portland, regardless, it was a pleasure to meet you all. The special exhibit were amazing as soon as I get a chance I will upload some of my pictures to show you what can be seen at these types of shows.

Kollage has brought the production of their Square Needles back to the USA. Their newer stock has silver colored needles, the older stock copper colored ones. There are subtle differences between the two productions, besides the anodized aluminum color, such as pointier tip in the new production. Why was Vintage Mastex White so great?It is the whitest nylon available. It has a soft bond, so it is flexible and it lays out nicely. None of the other brands make a white quite as white.
I just received the very last spools available and one of my buyer will take all the spools I have left next week. Order by April 7th!
Whenever I need a true white, that's the spool I reach for. I am saving some spools for future use in my jewelry studio.
