August 2022 > New Post on How to Compare C-Lon and S-Lon Colors
About a year ago one of my customers sent me a chart of the possible color equivalents across the two competing brands of US made bonded nylon cord, I followed up to see how the colors intersect.
Why is it important?
1. Customers have been contacting me looking for C-Lon color equivalents corresponding to an S-Lon color they bought in another store or for colors no longer in production.
2. Due to global supplies disruption, some C-Lon have been out of stock for a longer period of time. Finding an equivalent across the brands becomes necessary for higher volume customers with immediate production needs who can not wait for a color to be back in stock.

July 2022 > Smart Beads | Sliding Zamak Bead Closures in 6 Metal Finishes
These smart beads have a silicone insert that allow them to be positioned on cord or wire. Once placed, they will hold their positions on cords. They also can be used a sliding closure as shown here.

Space Dyed Chinese Knotting Cord is a braided nylon cord dyed with variegated color gradations. The cord is constructed like all the other Chinese Knotting Cords with an outer braided construction and a center cord and has a 0.6mm diameter similar in size to Micro Size G and Size H. The cord is first braided with nylon thread, then it is space dyed in skeins with several colors and/or color gradients creating a pattern around the skein. Many of the skeins are about 50 inch (128 cm) around and space dyed with the same colors on both side of the folded skein so the pattern is mirrored on both sides of the skein and repeats with each turn of the skein. After the dying process, the cord is rinsed and dried. In the last step the cord is rolled on spools.

Just like all the other Chinese Knotting Cord with the added attraction of variegated color gradients. Its diameter makes it a great choice for micro macrame, Bollywood bracelets & kumihimo braids. The colors do not bleed when washed with soap and warm water and the cords dry quickly. This cord has a good grit and holds knots well.

Madeira Silk Floss is a high quality 100% pure Swiss Mountain silk made into a 4-strand floss with a beautiful sheen and no lint. The packaging design keeps the silk dust and tangle free.
Unfortunately this silk is no longer made. The factory in Germany had a lot of stock, but they are now running out of some of the colors.
2400 Black, 2401 Natural White, 2404 Ecru, and 0514 are is sold out. The next 2 full collections still includes 2401 Natural White, and Color 0514. 2404 Ecru is limited to the stock on hand.
Washable in warm water. Iron on silk setting. Can be dry cleaned with extra care. Do not bleach or place in dryer.

May 2022 - We support peace in Ukraine and we have donated weekly to organizations providing relief and help to the Ukrainian people and refugees from the war. For the first 4 weeks we donated 10% of the online store revenues and week 1 & 3 donations went to International Medical Corps for immediate support of the refugees fleeing the war. Week 2 donation went to World Central Kitchen. Both organizations were already on the ground supporting families fleeing the war. Access to medical care and food are necessities and should be a human right everywhere. Week 4 and 5 donations went to Project S.A.V.E. (Salvage All Valuable Equipment), a local Chico CA all volunteer organization. They sent 20 pallets full of medical equipment to Poland. Their goal closely match mine as to reuse, plus all donations go towards cost, not large CEO's salaries. As of week 6 we are changing the way we raise moneys for Ukraine - see more about this below.

April 2022 | C-Lon Colors for Ukraine
As of April 1, I started designing special bracelets to wear in solidarity with Ukraine. I will be selling them at the Chico Art Center Gift Shop and at the Chico ART Festival in May with 25% of sales going to non-profit organizations helping in Ukraine with the humanitarian crisis. For the sky: Sky Blue, Caribbean Blue, Blue Lagoon, and Capri. For the wheat and sunflower fields: Wheat, Golden Yellow, Marigold, and Gold. If you want to go with just 2 colors, get Golden Yellow and one of the 3 blues on the right.
I plan to use the heavier 0.(mm in diameter
